Tiger Shroff Firing Case: 11th Suspect Arrested, Guns Recovered

The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested an 11th suspect in the firing on actor Tiger Shroff’s car and recovered the weapons used in the attack. Officials said Pranjal Thakral was picked up from Indore in Madhya Pradesh on suspicion of supplying a pistol to one of the shooters.

The attack took place on October 18 in Juhu, where two men fired five to six rounds at the actor’s vehicle. Shroff escaped unharmed, but his driver and a bystander were injured. The attackers fled on a motorcycle, which was later found abandoned in Andheri.

Weapons Recovered in Surat

Investigators said Thakral provided the second pistol used in the incident and has direct links to alleged mastermind Anil Pandit. Police took him to Surat in Gujarat, where they recovered a pistol, a countrymade firearm and cartridges that had been hidden there. The shooters had first fled to Surat before they were eventually arrested in Kota, Rajasthan.

MCOCA Charges Ahead

The Crime Branch has obtained a three-day transit remand and is bringing Thakral to Mumbai for further questioning. Days earlier, police had said all ten people arrested at that stage would be charged under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). Police sources said investigators are now gathering evidence and completing the documentation needed to invoke the law against the accused.

Questioning of Thakral is expected to shed more light on how the weapons reached the shooters and on the role played by Pandit in planning the attack. With the guns now in police custody, the recoveries are likely to strengthen the case as it moves towards prosecution.
