Five Asian cities were named in the top 10 with the finest public transport systems, while Mumbai is in the 19th spot and was the top-ranked Indian city.

Germany’s Berlin was rated as the city with the best public transport system worldwide, followed by Czech Republic’s capital Prague. At the same time, Mumbai was in the 19th spot.

It was the top-ranked Indian metropolis, according to a survey shared by London-based ‘Time Out’ – a media platform that concentrates on the hospitality business and labels itself as an international brand ‘committed to city life.’

Five Asian nations were named among the top 10 in the list, with Japan’s busy capital Tokyo taking on the third spot.

According to a survey among 20,000 respondents in 50 metropolises globally to measure public sentiment regarding their local transport systems, Berlin was named as having the most dependable, safe, and comfortable public transport network.

97% of its citizens lauded the public transit network, especially for its metro system, U-Bahn, which offers nine effortlessly navigable lines and 175 stations, Time Out said.

Cities comprising Melbourne and Bangkok, with their fairytale trams and high-sky trains, failed to cut as per the survey based on an easy question “Is it easy to get around your city by public transit?”

Tokyo was crowned third for handling a smooth transport network for its locals and non-Japanese speakers, as per the survey.

The system keeps the city moving, with millions using the metropolis’ buses, rickshaws, metro and taxis every day,” the survey said.
