Tragic Pakistan train accident; 15 died so far

A horrifying Train accident occurred in Pakistan; around 15 were killed, and several were injured. 

According to local news channel Geo News, at least 15 people were killed and 50 were injured in Pakistan after ten Rawalpindi-bound Hazara Express train cars derailed near a stop 275 km from Karachi. More people are expected to be harmed.

Passengers who were injured were taken to a local hospital. The cause of the derailment has yet to be determined.

The administration is conducting rescue operations, and nearby hospitals have declared an emergency.

According to the local administrator, a relief train has left for the accident site and will arrive soon.

“Due to the accident, traffic on the up track has been suspended,” railways divisional superintendent Sukkur Mahmoodur Rahman was cited as saying by Geo News.

According to reports, the same train narrowly avoided a major collision earlier this year.
