Arrest by Anti-Terrorism Squad

The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of the police apprehended two Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in Maharashtra’s Navi Mumbai township. The individuals, both 24 years old, were arrested on Friday from Khidukpada village at Nadve in Panvel during an inspection conducted by the ATS team.

Discovery of Illegal Residence

During the inspection in the Khidukpada locality, the ATS team discovered the two individuals residing in a chawl (row tenement). Upon interrogation, they failed to provide valid documents proving their legal entry into the country.

Possession of Misleading Documents

Interestingly, despite lacking legitimate documentation for their stay, the individuals possessed Aadhaar cards, voter ID cards, and driving licenses in their names, adding a layer of complexity to the investigation.

Legal Action Taken

A case was registered against the two individuals under the Passport (Entry into India) Rules-1950 and the Foreigners Act on Saturday. The authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances of their illegal stay and any potential involvement in illegal immigration networks.

Conclusion: Vigilance Against Illegal Immigration

The arrest of the two Bangladeshi nationals highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat illegal immigration and maintain national security. The case underscores the importance of stringent border control measures and the need for constant vigilance to safeguard against unauthorized residency within the country.
