Deakin University Entrance into GIFT City: An Overview

Deakin University, the first Australian university to establish a presence in GIFT City, has received an overwhelming response, with approximately 6,000 applications for admission to its courses set to commence in July.

Regional Distribution in Deakin University Admissions:

According to officials, the university has witnessed significant interest from various regions across India. 

Gujarat stands out among the top three regions regarding registrations, alongside Maharashtra and Delhi NCR. 

Additionally, registrations have poured in from students residing in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata.

City-wise Analysis:

Among the cities, Vadodara, Delhi, and Mumbai have emerged as the frontrunners, recording the highest number of registrations.

Officials have highlighted that the registration process is nearing completion, with notable insights into the preference of courses. 

The Master of Business Analytics course has garnered a substantial share, accounting for nearly 80% of registrations. In contrast, the remaining 20% of registrations are for the Master of Cyber Security (Professional).

Factors Influencing Course Selection at Deakin University:

This distribution can be attributed to the nature of the courses. The Master of Business Analytics course attracts a significant share due to its broader appeal, allowing students from diverse academic backgrounds to apply. 

Conversely, the Master of Cyber Security (Professional) requires a relevant IT background, limiting its reach to a more specialized cohort.
