Key Takeaways:

  • The general public is unaware that Vijay and Ajith Kumar are at odds during Pongal. Ajith is on the move with his Thunivu.
  • The movie has already made 2.34 crores from day one ticket sales, per Sacnilk.com, evidence of Thalapathy Vijay’s stardom.

Three days remain until the release of Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu, and interest is at an all-time high.

The family entertainment is anticipated to do wonders at the box office because the Pongal festival is thought to be a lucrative time in Kollywood.

Let’s check its performance in reservations while contending with Thunivu.

Unbeknownst to the general public, Vijay and Ajith Kumar are at odds during Pongal. With his Thunivu, Ajith is travelling. Release dates for both movies are set for January 11.

The fight will undoubtedly be exciting because both actors are among Tamil cinema’s biggest stars. Both have a fiercely devoted fan base of people who go to the movies no matter what.

Returning to Varisu booking, Thalapathy Vijay’s stardom was evident given that the movie has already made 2.34 crores from day one ticket sales, according to Sacnilk.com. Given that the booking only just became available, this number is intriguing.

Additionally, a complete online listing of all shows is still pending. The update only pertains to the Tamil version because the Hindi and Telugu versions have not yet been available for booking.

In terms of cities, Chennai has 102 shows with a 91% occupancy rate. All 30 of the currently scheduled shows in Trichy are completely sold out, resulting in a 100% occupancy rate. It’s absurd, isn’t it?

In the meantime, Tracktollywood.com values the global theatrical rights to Varisu at 142 crores. Tamil Nadu rights from it have been sold for 72 crores.

Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have brought in 18 crores. Rights outside India have brought in 17 crores, while they are worth 35 crores.

Box office figures are based on projections and data from various sources. IDP has not independently verified the numbers.
