Vijay Deverakonda, Rashmika Mandanna File Cyber Crime Complaint in Hyderabad

Actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have taken the legal route after the online backlash that followed their appearance on Koffee With Karan 9. Their team has submitted a formal complaint to the Cyber Crime authorities in Hyderabad. It seeks an investigation into online publications and digital content that allegedly contain fabricated or misleading claims, manipulated material, impersonation and targeted harassment involving the couple.

Complaint Addressed to Hyderabad Police

According to the complaint and a press note issued by the actors’ team, the representation was submitted by P Nishanth Kumar, identified in the document as the manager of both actors. It is addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crimes, Hyderabad. The move comes after Vijay and Rashmika publicly responded to the intense scrutiny of their relationship.

The controversy began with a conversation about marriage discussions on the chat show. Clips from the episode spread widely on social media and sparked heated debates, with some users labelling Vijay a “red flag.” The growing commentary appears to have prompted the actors’ team to act against content it considers false or abusive.

Team Stresses Free Speech, Not Censorship

The press note stresses respect for free speech. The team says it is seeking action only against content that is demonstrably false or unlawful, rather than against opinions or criticism. It also urged social media users and publishers to be responsible when sharing unverified claims about the actors.

The complaint places the spotlight on how fast edited clips and unconfirmed narratives can spread online, particularly around public figures’ personal lives. Impersonation and manipulated content are among the concerns named in the filing.

It remains to be seen how the Hyderabad Cyber Crime unit will proceed with the complaint. For now, the episode shows how a single talk show conversation can grow into a wider legal and online conduct debate.
