Rashmika Says “I Love You” to Vijay 10–15 Times a Day

Actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna gave fans a rare look into married life in their first joint podcast since tying the knot in Udaipur earlier this year. Speaking with Prakhar Gupta on PGX: Raw & Real, the couple traced their journey from co-stars to life partners. They also revealed that Rashmika tells her husband “I love you” 10 to 15 times a day.

Rashmika said relationships often lose their warmth once couples get comfortable. People drop small gestures, she explained, because they assume their partner already knows how they feel. In her view, good morning messages, check-ins about the day and everyday affection should not disappear after marriage. Vijay agreed, admitting she is more mature on this front. He tends to assume strong feelings are obvious, so saying them aloud feels unnecessary, and Rashmika nudges him to put his emotions into words.

Why Some Partners Assume Love Is Obvious

Psychology has a name for Vijay’s instinct: the illusion of transparency. It is the habit of overestimating how visible our inner feelings are to others. Experiments, including some involving long-term partners, suggest that a feeling that seems loud inside one person may never actually reach the other.

Is There One Right Love Language?

Popular belief holds that everyone has a single main love language, an idea popularised by Gary Chapman’s The 5 Love Languages. However, a 2024 review in Current Directions in Psychological Science found that none of the studies it examined supported the theory’s central claims. Lead author Impett compared love to a balanced diet rather than a language, since people value many forms of expression. Spoken affection is simply one ingredient, and Rashmika encourages Vijay to add more of it.
