On Sunday, when severe rains lashed Himachal Pradesh, a video of a car drone away in the Beas River near Kullu surfaced online.

A parked automobile can be seen sinking into the river and then getting washed away by the river’s high flow in a video shared by news agency PTI.

As the state continues to get severe rainfall, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for seven districts in Himachal Pradesh, an orange alert for three districts, and a yellow notice for Lauhaul and Spiti districts for the next 48 hours. The weather service has also issued state landslip and flash flood warnings.

“A red alert has been issued for the districts of Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Una, Hamirpur, and Bilaspur.” Rain will fall in most parts of the state.

“An orange alert has been issued for the districts of Shimla, Solan, and Sirmaur,” the IMD said, according to ANI.

An IMD official said, “We have shared our forecast with the state government, and a warning has also been issued for flash floods, landslides, and tree uprooting.” These incidents could have an impact on water and electricity supplies.”

Landslide in Himachal Pradesh:

Several routes in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla, Lahaul, Spiti, Chamba, and Solan districts have been closed due to landslides and flash floods.

A group of 30 college students were rescued after becoming trapped owing to a landslip in Himachal Pradesh’s Gramphu village and Chota Dharra in the early hours of Sunday. According to accounts, there were no injuries in the incident.

“District Emergency Operation Centre Lahaul Spiti informed an incident of Flash Flood, and Landslip reported along the AEC BRO 94 RCC, NH 505 (Sumdo Kaza-Gramphu), which is blocked at different locations between Gramphu and Chota Dharra,” said an official statement issued by Himachal Pradesh State Emergency Operations Centre (HPSEOC), according to ANI.

A landslip in the Solan district damaged six under-construction residences on Saturday. While no casualties have been reported, the district authorities have relocated the workmen to a secure location, according to sources.

Meanwhile, three family members were murdered, and two others were injured when their house fell in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla on Sunday owing to heavy rain.
