Watch Rohit Sharma getting funnily Savage at Press Conference

In a historic turn of events during the 2023 edition of the Asia Cup, Indian captain Rohit Sharma steered Team India to a resounding triumph over Sri Lanka in the championship showdown.

The fast-bowling prowess of Mohammed Siraj transformed the much-anticipated contest into a one-sided final at the R Premadasa Stadium on Sunday.

Fresh from India’s dominant win over the defending champions, Rohit Sharma made a memorable statement that astonished reporters during the customary post-match press conference.

Rohit Sharma gave Savage a reply:

Known for his distinctive sense of humor, Rohit Sharma’s press conference was briefly interrupted by the loud noises of fireworks erupting at the match venue in Colombo.

Responding with his trademark wit, Rohit playfully encouraged the fans to save the fireworks to celebrate India’s victory in the upcoming World Cup.

“World Cup jeetne ke baad phodo yaar.” (Burst the crackers after we win the World Cup),” quipped Rohit, leaving everyone amused. His humorous remark quickly became a trending topic on social media.

India, a two-time champion, is set to host the ICC World Cup in the 50-over format next month. Rohit Sharma will lead the men’s team in their final white-ball assignment before the Asia Cup.

As a part of their preparation for the ICC event in India, Rohit and his team will engage in a three-match One Day International (ODI) series against the five-time world champions, Australia.

Rohit’s Stellar Performance:

Reflecting on Rohit Sharma’s standout performance during the Asia Cup, the 36-year-old displayed an impressive campaign with the bat.

The veteran opener reached the remarkable milestone of 10,000 runs in the 50-over format during the 2023 edition of the continental tournament.

Rohit holds the distinction of being the second-fastest batter to achieve this feat. With an average of 48.50, Rohit emerged as the fourth-highest run-scorer in the Asia Cup, amassing 194 runs in five innings.

Mohammed Siraj, the star of the Match:

Rohit Sharma also commended pacer Mohammed Siraj, who played a pivotal role in securing Team India’s comprehensive 10-wicket victory with his remarkable six-wicket haul.

Siraj’s extraordinary performance included becoming the first Indian bowler to take four wickets in a single over, ultimately restricting Sri Lanka to a mere 50 runs in the Asia Cup final.

Rohit expressed his appreciation, stating, “Siraj has to be specially mentioned here; when the pitch is looking that dry, to get the ball to move around like that is a special skill set.

I hope he continues that for a little longer; at the same time, we just need to look after all the bowlers, make sure they’re fresh, and keep them ready for the upcoming games.”
