With only two weeks left for the ICC World Cup 2023, the excitement reached new heights as the ICC launched the official ICC World Cup anthem for this year’s World Cup, set to be held in India.

The ‘Dil Jashn Bole’ anthem garnered mixed reactions on social media.

Adidas Presents India’s ICC World Cup Anthem:

In an added twist to the anticipation, Adidas, India’s kit partners, unveiled their anthem for the Indian cricket team.

The 2-minute 21-second anthem, “Impossible Nahi Ye Sapna, 3 Ka Dream Hai Apna,” resonates with India’s quest to secure their third ODI World Cup title.

Kapil Dev led India to their inaugural ODI World Cup title in 1983, while MS Dhoni ended a long wait by securing India’s second ODI World Cup victory in 2011.

India also claimed another World Cup in 2007, albeit in the T20 format.

Featured cricketers in the video:

The Adidas anthem prominently features India’s captain Rohit Sharma, cricket superstar Virat Kohli, vice-captain Hardik Pandya, rising star Shubman Gill, pacers Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur, versatile all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, and spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

The New Jersey Design:

The anthem video unveiled a significant alteration in India’s World Cup jersey compared to their recent Asia Cup attire.

Instead of the traditional three white stripes over the shoulder, the new jersey now boasts India’s tricolor stripes – orange, white, and green – on the shoulder.

This modification was met with enthusiasm on social media, elevating India’s World Cup jersey to a new level.

Notably, the World Cup jersey will not feature the Dream 11 logo, as per ICC guidelines, which only allow the inclusion of the team’s name in the center.

India’s Strong Contender Status:

Despite not clinching an ICC title since the 2013 Champions Trophy, India enters the ODI World Cup as one of the top contenders.

This status is attributed to their formidable squad, recent performance, and familiarity with home conditions.

India showcased their readiness for the Tournament by securing a record-extending eighth Asia Cup title.

The start of the Tournament:

The two-time ODI World Cup champions will begin their campaign against Australia on October 8 in Chennai.

The Tournament will kick off with a match between England and New Zealand in Ahmedabad, marking a repeat of the final from the previous edition.
