Yogi Adityanath Orders School Accountability After Student Protests

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken serious note of recent protests by Gen Alpha students over administrative lapses at educational institutions across the state. He has directed officials to resolve complaints without delay and to fix responsibility wherever negligence is found.

Protests Reported Across Several Districts

The Chief Minister’s order follows demonstrations by students in Lucknow, Azamgarh, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Unnao, and a number of other districts. The protests centered on issues such as teacher shortages, poor infrastructure, and delays in administrative response, prompting Adityanath to call for close and continuous monitoring of schools across the state.

To ensure the directive is carried out, officials from the Chief Minister’s Office have been appointed as nodal officers tasked with tracking shortcomings across basic and secondary education, higher education, technical and vocational training, and institutions under the social welfare and labour departments. These officers have been instructed to identify accountable individuals and act swiftly wherever gaps are discovered.

Social Media Monitoring and Preventive Steps

District magistrates and divisional commissioners have also been asked to keep an eye on school-related posts circulating on social media, respond to them with accurate information, and take preventive action on recurring problems such as poor sanitation and waterlogging on campuses.

The move signals a broader push by the state government to improve grievance redressal in the education sector and reassure students and parents that concerns raised publicly will translate into on-ground action, rather than being left unaddressed at the district level.
