1st impressions of the Xiaomi has not released a tablet in India in quite some time. Seven years, to be precise. The only tablet Xiaomi released in India was the Mi Pad in 2015, for Rs 12,999. However, the tablet market has evolved significantly since then, and the pandemic has reignited interest in this particular segment.
1st impressions of the Xiaomi recognizes the opportunity and is hoping to make an impact. However, what exactly makes the Xiaomi Pad 5 offer, and how does it differ from other Android tablets? After a few days of use, my first impression of the device is here.
Xiaomi Pad 5: What are the key specifications, and what are the accessories?
First, let us go over the specifications. The Xiaomi Pad 5 features a 10.95-inch 2.5K+ resolution display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The notepad is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor, has 6GB of RAM, and storage options of 128GB or 256GB. Unfortunately, there is no LTE variant in India, and this is a Wi-Fi-only tablet, but keep in mind that China does have cellular options.
The 8720 mAh battery has a 22.5W fast charging capability, so it should be adequate for most heavy-duty applications. The Xiaomi Pad 5 features a 13MP rear camera with a scanning mode (given that this is a potential use case for tablet customers) and an 8MP front camera. In addition, it has quad speakers that support Dolby Atmos.
The company is also releasing a Smart Pen, which magnetically attaches to the side of the tablet and charges it. On the Xiaomi Pad 5, the Smart Pen can perform various functions. There is also a Xiaomi Pad Keyboard, which serves as both a cover and a keyboard stand. These two items must be purchased separately, as with most tablets.
