Sooryavanshi is one of those films that has decided to have a film premiere instead of digital streaming and thus has been postponed several times due to the pandemic. In 2020, filming and production were suspended due to the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in mid-March.

However, in October and November, the shooting schedule was allow to resume.

When a second pandemic wave hit the country in April, another blockade was imposed, affecting distributors and cinemas. As lockdown restrictions eased, some countries allowed cinemas to operate. But Maharashtra, a central hub for Bollywood films, closed its cinemas until October this year.
