Dubai Rental Disputes Centre (RDC) has assisted 1,267 beneficiaries with problems paying their rent.

Since 2017, the Yad Al Khair committee of the centre has provided Dh36 million in assistance to families affected by rental lawsuits. Beneficiaries included those imprisoned for financial disputes.

RDC director Judge Abdulqader Mousa stated that the centre is committed to assisting families experiencing rental difficulties. “This assistance has been available since the establishment of the Yad Al Khair Committee in 2017.”

Through this committee, the centre provides social support to those in need and helps individuals clear debts owed after rental judgements are issued.

The Yad Al Khair Committee thoroughly investigates each case and assists as needed.

The committee has received “significant support,” according to Judge Mousa, from businessmen, individuals, as well as institutions.

Judge Abdulaziz Anwahi, the committee’s president, claimed that the RDC employs an “open procedure” to evaluate the cases it receives to determine individuals needing assistance.

“This approach entails requesting that (possible beneficiaries) fill out a Yad Al Khair Committee form and submit a thorough report explaining the circumstances of the case and any pertinent remarks.

This strategy guarantees that the committee can provide money to people who are in need while setting priorities.

The committee was able to discharge the debts of people who had been imprisoned due to rental disputes and financial claims.

“These individuals of different nationalities have faced tough financial circumstances that led them to prison.

The centre’s goal is to ensure that these people are not imprisoned while also defending the landlords’ rights in rental cases.

Many people have regained their freedom and overcome financial difficulties due to these efforts,” the judge added.
