In a major selection drive because of the upcoming Assam assembly elections, the government handed away letters of appointment to 29,701 teachers on Friday to resolve the shortage of human resources at state educational institutions.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal stated on this occasion: 

On those occasions, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal says that the recruitment of thousands of teachers every day showed that the state’s government is prepared to take about qualitative improvements in the education sector.

During the next 10-15 days, Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the government would recruit another 5,000 teachers.

Sonowal thanked the department for adding accountability to the process of recruitment.

Further CM Sarbananda Sonowal stated: 

He hoped that with these recruitments, the scarcity of teachers in educational institutions would be resolved largely.

The Chief Minister told the programmer that recruiting thousands of teachers is a big step towards upholding the promises made through the state government.

He also asked for united efforts to build a healthy learning climate for teachers, parents, and students and urged them to work with commitment and sincerity.

He said the newly named teachers would create quality human capital for young people to succeed in the global work markets.

Students from Assam moved to other parts of the country to seek higher education:

Since there was a shortage of such institutions throughout the state, Sonowal said many children from Assam had previously gone to other regions of the country to seek higher education.

The government’s measures to expand the number of higher education institutions including universities, medical and engineering colleges, have benefited students significantly, he added.

Also, he said, the Centre’s Act East Policy has provided possibilities for youths.

The Ambassador of Japan soon visit Assam:

Sonowal said that the Japanese Ambassador might visit Assam soon, which might boost the growth of skills and job creation.

Sarma said that in the education sector and even in the recruitment process, the government had introduced qualitative improvements.

The state government has recruited Seventy-one thousand seven hundred sixty-five teachers in schools since 2016, he said.
