Ayushmann Khurrana talks about the failure of An Action Hero
Ayushmann Khurrana has spoken about his movie An Action Hero disappointing box office performance. Anirudh Iyer, a debut director, directed the film, which also starred Jaideep Ahlawat.
The picture tracked an artist’s journey in front of and behind the cameras and was billed as a polished actioner with an odd satirical sense of humour.
Ayushmann discussed the film’s release in a new interview, saying that timing is essential for cinema releases in the post-pandemic age.
An Action Hero the movie:
On the second of December 2022, An Action Hero will be launched. Ayushmann played Manav, an action hero on the run from Bhura Solanki (Jaideep), who wants to avenge his brother’s mysterious murder.
The picture collected $16.24 million at the global box office. It will be available on Netflix India in January 2023.

In the latest interview with PTI, Ayushmann discussed the film’s box office results, saying, “It depends on timing.” This is a great time; theatricals are also returning, and I am pleased that mid-budget films are succeeding.
It’s a wonderful silver lining. I believe it was a tough situation at the time. Later on, an Action Hero received a lot of love. I’ll keep making these decisions. I am confident that theatricals will occur, and we will do well.”
During an earlier interview with the same news agency before the film’s release, the actor stated that the film had no social message. “It’s just pure excitement and entertainment.”
We’ve got reels and everything on (Insta)gram and phones. So, the rivalry for theatrical release comes not only from OTT but also from social media,” he explained.
Ayushmann’s acting debut:
Ayushmann made his acting debut in Shoojit Sircar’s comedy Vicky Donor in 2012. For his portrayal in Sriram Raghavan’s Andhadhun (2018), he received a National Award for Best Actor.
He recently released Raataan Kaaliyan, a new tune his longtime collaborator Rochak Kohli composed. The actor will soon be seen in Dream Girl 2 alongside Ananya Panday.
