After the film grossed over 40 crores, Ayushmann recalled his late father, P Khurana, and how he inspired him to become a wonderful actor.

According to news agency ANI, “I wish my father was here to witness this.” Dream Girl was his favourite film. He was really happy about how I tried something new.

I recall him doing the splits while watching the movie. He expected that the picture would be a smashing success. “I wish he could have seen Dream Girl 2 as well.”

“I know he would have loved it, and I would have loved to see him laugh with all his heart again.” His laughter was infectious, and he was my biggest supporter.

His unwavering trust in me has made me who I am today. I took the road less travelled because he taught me that I was the master of my fate and that I should always follow my heart.

I know he’s blessing me from up high. “His profound words ‘beta public ki navz samjho (understand the people)’ will always resonate with me,” he remarked. On May 19, this year, Ayushmann’s father died.
