NDA Set for Close Victory in Bihar Elections, Tejashwi Leads CM Race

The National Democratic Alliance, led by Janata Dal (United), is poised to retain power in Bihar’s upcoming assembly elections, according to a latest opinion poll released on Saturday. The JVC Poll survey projects the NDA will secure 120 to 140 seats in the 243-member Bihar assembly, while the Mahahathbandhan (MGB) is expected to win between 93 and 112 seats. This indicates a close but decisive victory for the incumbent coalition.

Seat Distribution and Party Performance

The BJP is predicted to emerge as the largest single party with 70 to 81 seats, followed by JD(U) with 42 to 48 seats. The survey also forecasts LJP (RV) winning 5 to 7 seats, HAM(S) securing 2 seats, and RLM capturing 1 to 2 seats. Within the opposition Mahahathbandhan, the RJD could secure 69 to 78 seats, Congress 9 to 17 seats, and CPI(ML) 12 to 14 seats. Poll strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party might win only one seat, while AIMIM, BSP, and other parties could collectively secure 8 to 10 seats.

Tejashwi Leads CM Preference Chart

RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav tops the chief ministerial preference with 33 percent support, significantly ahead of incumbent Nitish Kumar’s 29 percent. Chirag Paswan and Prashant Kishor each command 10 percent support, while deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary trails with 9 percent. On vote share, the NDA is expected to capture 41 to 43 percent, closely matched by MGB’s 39 to 41 percent. The Jan Suraaj Party could attract 6 to 7 percent of votes. Voting will occur on November 6 and 11, with results announced on November 14.
