Biparjoy caused heavy rainfall in Aravalli district of Gujarat

Heavy rains damaged several parts of Gujarat’s Aravalli district on Tuesday when Cyclone Biparjoy passed through.

Rainwater flooded the roads, making it impossible for people to travel. The sea was similarly chaotic, with tidal surges pounding on the coasts.

Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Health Minister, stated that an action plan is being developed for medical or health emergencies.

The union minister commented after evaluating the preparations made by the Centre and the Gujarat administration for Cyclone “Biparjoy.”

Manorama Mohanty on Biparjoy and Rainfall:

“Wind speed is increasing in Porbandar, Devbhoomi Dwarka districts up to Kachchh, and is expected to reach 65-75 kmph tomorrow.”

On June 15th, wind speed in Dwarka, Jamnagar, Kachchh, and Morbi districts of Gujarat will be about 125-135 kmph, with gusts reaching 150 kmph. “It has the potential to cause significant harm,” IMD Director General Manorama Mohanty said earlier.

“Last night around 11:30 p.m., the extremely severe cyclonic storm weakened to a very severe cyclonic storm.” It was travelling at 10 kmph, largely north-northwesterly, and it will continue moving near north until the 14th morning.

Cyclone will then proceed north-northeastwards. “It is likely to cross the Katch coast near Mandvi to Karachi (Pakistan) near the port of Jakkau (Gujarat),” she warned.

Biparjoy, a depression in the Arabian Sea, quickly became a powerful cyclonic storm. It is one of the most severe cyclones to hit India in recent decades.
