The situation is getting worst in Himachal Pradesh. Several deaths have been reported in the state due to Himachal floods.

In Himachal Pradesh, heavy rain has caused flash floods and landslides, stranding numerous tourists and causing severe damage to roads and infrastructure.

On Tuesday, chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that the government is working hard to restore road transport and electricity supplies.

In contrast, his deputy Mukesh Agnihotri stated that the situation will likely return to normalcy within 72 hours.

The monsoon mayhem in the state has taken the lives of around 20 people in the last 48 hours, with infrastructural damage estimated to cost between 3,000 and 4,000 crore.

Here are a few latest updates on Himachal floods:

On Tuesday, CM Sukhu conducted an aerial inspection of the impacted areas and reported that six helicopters had been sent to conduct rescue efforts for stranded visitors and locals. Many locations, including Shimla, reported water supply disruptions and interaction issues.

The deputy commissioner of Kullu stated on Facebook on Wednesday that connectivity to the Kasol/Parvati Valley is expected to be restored tonight or tomorrow morning.

He further stated that connectivity to the villages of Sainj and Tirthan is being restored on a “war footing.” Previously, he stated that these places experienced limited connectivity; however, everyone is safe, and no adverse incidents have been reported thus far. Because of the present situation, over 1,000 routes are inaccessible.

In a tweet early this morning, CM Sukhu stated that 800 people were evacuated from Kasol and Manikaran via pickup jeeps yesterday night.

“A 300-meter stretch of the road connecting Kasol/Manikaran to Bhuntar has been washed away at Dunkhara.” “Efforts are being made to quickly restore this road…,” he tweeted.

As per the statement from the chief minister’s office, “…over 2200 vehicles have passed through Kullu from Manali thus far, and food is being distributed to them at Ramshilla Chowk.” “The chief of staff is keeping an eye on the situation.”

Officials also stated that tourist vehicles trapped in Lahaul were evacuated last night, and Sukhu stated that a total of 2000 people stranded in Kasol had been evacuated thus far.

The Sadar Vyas Relief Camp has been built to aid the trapped people, with accommodation for 200 to 300 people.

The India Meteorological Department warned on Tuesday for moderate to heavy rainfall in several areas over the next few days.

As the monsoon trough moves eastward, more rain is expected in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh beginning tomorrow.
