The sudden increase of cases in Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
India, on Thursday, registered it’s second-highest spike on a single day with 4000 new COVID-19 infections, taking the total number of cases to 82000.
India has posted 3500 plus cases for five consecutive days. Delhi saw the biggest rise in coronavirus cases as 472 new infections were registered in the last 24 hours as the total cases neared the 8000 mark.
Maharashtra also posted a whopping 1,495 new cases taking the state’s tally to over 25000 and registered 54 deaths as the total of deceased nears the 1000 mark.
A total of 27,920 patients have recovered from this dangerous disease, India-wide, which means that the total number of actual cases is 51,400 said the Union Health Ministry.
Tamil Nadu registered 450 new infections on Thursday taking the state’s tally to 9,675 thereby closing into the second place in the list of worst affected states of India.
This bunch can be attributed to Chennai’s Koyambedu’s market cluster. Gujarat, meanwhile, has total 40 cases more than that of Tamil Nadu, it tested 324 positive cases and the number of cases in Gujarat reached 9270 with 556 people dead.
The percentage of infections has gone up to three times in the last 20 days. Due to the return of many migrant workers, many states are witnessing a surge in positive cases.
Bihar observed the positive rate being much higher in the returning migrant workers than the state average. Among the workers, positive rate of 7.5% was discovered, which is massive as compared to the whole state’s average at 2.5%.
Just like Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan also saw a spike in the total number of cases. 187 and 202 fresh cases were found in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, respectively.
Orissa reported 101 coronavirus cases. Assam’s Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that he has recommended the centre for an extension of the lockdown of two weeks.
