COVID 19: INDIAN ARMY Salutes ‘Corona Warriors’ with Fly-pasts, illuminating Ships and showering of petals.

Indian Army’s military bands perform outside leading hospitals fighting COVID 19 as a felicitation of ‘Corona Warriors’. The Indian Navy and India Air Force also thanked warriors by illuminating ships and fly-pasts.

On Sunday, The Indian Air Force carried out fly-pasts over major cities and towns all over India as helicopters showered petals on hospitals to acknowledge and express gratitude to healthcare professionals fighting Coronavirus pandemic at the forefront. Indian Army deployed military bands to perform outside hospitals dedicated to COVID 19 treatment. 

After Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat’s Friday announcement, jets like MiG-29, Sukhoi-30 MKI and Jaguar conducted fly-pasts over major cities from Leh to Kochi and Mumbai to Guwahati. The Indian Navy Ships’ were seen displaying ‘Thank You‘ messages along with showering petals on coastal states with the help of its helicopters to salute ‘Corona Warriors’.

The exercise began with laying wreath at the police memorial in Delhi by honouring and felicitating the personnel deployed for enforcing nationwide lockdown. The fleet of Military Jets hovered over the city for 30 minutes as a tribute to the medical professionals and front line workers. IAF rained petals in Delhi, Mumbai, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Kerala. In the evening The Eastern Naval Command, The Southern Naval Command and the Western Naval Command also illuminated few warships docked at major ports, PTI reported. 

INS Vikramaditya ship anchored at Karwar Coast, to be illuminated at 19:30 and will remain lit till midnight said, defence officials. 

As per the Health Ministry, the total number of coronavirus cases climbed to 39,980 on Sunday recording 83 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 1301. To encourage the efforts of health care professionals, Indian Army saluted and showed gratitude in these times of turmoil.
