India Top ICC ODI Rankings 2026; Pakistan Drop to Fifth

India have held on to the No.1 position in the updated ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings 2026, continuing their dominance in the 50-over format. With 118 rating points, India sit comfortably at the summit, though they slipped by one point compared to the previous update. New Zealand follow closely in second place on 113 points, with defending ODI World Cup champions Australia rounding out the top three on 109 points.

South Africa Rise, Pakistan Fall

One of the most notable shifts in the latest update sees South Africa climbing into the top four with 102 points, displacing Pakistan to fifth place. Pakistan now sit on 98 points, a significant drop reflecting their inconsistent ODI performances over the qualifying period. Sri Lanka occupy sixth position on 96 points, while Afghanistan and England follow on 93 and 89 points respectively.

Lower Rankings and World Cup Implications

Bangladesh are placed ninth on 84 points, with West Indies rounding out the top ten on 74 points. The gap between the two sides has widened to 10 points from six previously. Further down, Ireland have overtaken Zimbabwe to claim 11th place on 54 points, while the United States climbed to 13th, edging past Scotland.

These rankings carry significant weight heading into the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup qualification process. The top eight-ranked sides as of March 31, 2027, will earn automatic berths in the tournament, alongside hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe. Should South Africa remain within the top eight, the ninth-placed team may also secure direct qualification, making every point in these rankings critically important.
