KL Rahul out of the India vs Australia series due to injury.

On their tour of Australia, Team India was dealt another blow as opening batsman KL Rahul was withdrawn from the ongoing Test series because of an injury. 

The Board of Cricket Control into India (BCCI) has been told that during a practice session on Saturday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Rahul dislocated his left wrist while batting throughout the nets.

Rahul would need another three weeks to produce:

It was discovered after further inspection that Rahul would require another three weeks to recover from the injury and would therefore not be able to take part during the last two Border-Gavaskar Trophy tests.

Rahul also will head back to India and continue his injury treatment at the National Academy of Cricket in Bengaluru.

Jasprit Bumrah is the only first-choice seamer left for India:

The services of Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma as well as Umesh Yadav are still lacking in India due to the injury, while Captain Virat Kohli has been on paternity leave.

Due to an injury, they picked up while bowling throughout the second innings of the second Test in Melbourne, Pacer Umesh Yadav waddled off the field. 

Only Jasprit Bumrah, despite Mohammed Siraj making his debut in the Melbourne Test, is the only very next seamer left in the team for India.

Umesh and Shami out of the series:

Due to a calf muscle tear, Umesh had to travel back to India, and he would miss the rest of the series as well. In place of Umesh, Team India agreed to add left-arm seamer Thangarasu Natarajan to the team for the third Test.

Meanwhile, after sustaining a fracture in his arm, Shami was taken out of the series. In the second innings at the Adelaide Oval, Shami was batting whenever a bouncer from Australian seamer Pat Cummins struck him on the right arm. The Third Test starts on January 7 in Sydney. At the minute, the series is tied 1-1.
