Came so far yet left Stranded young Washington Sundar missed a century by just 4runs as his partners lost their wickets against stokes. But it was an awesome knock you can feel for him. He deserved the century today, but no problem, he will make many in coming years for sure.
Washington Sundar Batting allrounder securing a place in Middle-order in Tests for India:
Washington Sundar has shown immense talent in just 4 test matches he played. He is fantastic against pace, seam, swing and spin. This young lanky lefty can be a permanent middle-order batsman for India for sure. Yes, it is too early to judge everything, but how he has shown his batting and bowling, he is bright talent, and surely he has a bright future.
Sundar is technically correct against all attacks:
He is a technically sound batsman, perfect while playing offside shots, which is his USP. Surely he has the talent to become a good test match batsman, and his bowling will add more to his spot in the team every time.
Investing in Washington Sundar and Risabh Pant:
India should invest more in him as these young players will surely play many big innings for team India in coming years in all formats. Both have shown that in tough situations.
Match on Hand 4th test India vs England and ticket to Lords for Finale:
On the 3rd of 4th test, India vs England in Motera India pushed the lead to 160runs thanks to Sundar and Axar partnership. Axar lost his cool and tried to get a quick single cost him the wicket and Sundar’s hundred too. Both lefties extended the lead to 89runs to 160runs, which takes India into the driving seat in the 4th test and securing the team’s ticket to lords against NewZealand.
Now it is on bowlers to wrap up the England inning and finish this test series on a winning note. Will interesting to see how England play in the second inning under pressure.
