PM Narendra Modi participated in a ‘Swachhata Abhiyan’ (cleanliness drive) in Nashik, Maharashtra, before inaugurating the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), India’s longest sea bridge. 

A video shared on social media, PM Modi was seen mopping the floors of Kalaram temple in Nashik’s Panchavati area.

Appeal for Cleanliness in Temples Ahead of Ram Temple Consecration:

In the video, PM Narendra Modi appealed to citizens to conduct cleanliness activities in temples nationwide before the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22. 

He emphasized the importance of cleanliness during the ‘pran pratishtha’ (consecration) of the Ram Temple.

PM Modi paid floral tribute to Swami Vivekananda in Nashik on his birth anniversary and addressed a gathering. He acknowledged Swami Vivekananda’s role in energizing India during challenging times. The day was dedicated to youth power in India.

Foundation Stone Laying and Inaugurations:

During his visit, PM Modi laid the foundation for multiple development projects worth ₹30,500 crores. The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewari-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu, also known as the Mumbai Transharbour Link, was inaugurated. 

The 21.8 km bridge aims to provide faster connectivity to Mumbai International Airport and Navi Mumbai International Airport.

Dedication of Railway Projects and ‘Namo Mahila Shashaktikaran Abhiyaan:’

PM Modi dedicated several railway projects to the nation, including ‘Phase 2 of the Uran-Kharkopar railway line’ in Navi Mumbai. 

He also launched the ‘Namo Mahila Shashaktikaran Abhiyaan,’ focusing on empowering women in Maharashtra through skill development training and entrepreneurship exposure.
