Rahul Gandhi Expands Vote Theft Allegations Across Multiple States

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has escalated his “vote theft” allegations against the BJP, claiming the controversial practice extends beyond Haryana to multiple states. Addressing reporters in Panarpani, Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday, Gandhi alleged that the saffron party employed identical methods in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra elections. He promised to release comprehensive evidence in phases, asserting that what he has already presented is merely “a little” of the complete data.

Centralized Attack on Democracy

Gandhi accused the BJP, Prime Minister Modi, and Chief Electoral Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of orchestrating a “centralized plan” to institutionalize “vote chori” (vote theft). He characterized this as “an attack on democracy and the Constitution of B.R. Ambedkar,” urging the youth to “resist this wholesale theft of democracy.” His press conference on November 5 presented what he termed “The H-files,” featuring electoral roll data claiming 25 lakh fake entries in Haryana alone, along with photographs of a Brazilian model used 22 times across ten booths under different Indian names.

BJP’s Firm Denial

The BJP dismissed Gandhi’s allegations as “false and baseless,” with Union Minister Kiren Rijiju accusing the Congress leader of attempting to deflect from political failures and defame Indian institutions. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh challenged Gandhi to file formal complaints with the Election Commission rather than holding press conferences. The Election Commission responded through officials telling PTI that Gandhi’s allegations were “unfounded,” noting that Congress booth-level agents raised no objections during the electoral roll revision process, and no instances of multiple voting were reported.
