Ramayana Advance Booking Crosses ₹13 Crore Ahead of Release

Ranbir Kapoor’s much-awaited mythological epic Ramayana has made a promising start at the ticket window. Advance bookings for the Nitesh Tiwari-directed film have reportedly earned around ₹13 crore ahead of its November 5 release. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the figure comes down to about ₹10.50 crore if block seats are excluded.

The numbers cover only the opening day. Bookings are already open for the first five days, so the figures are expected to rise in the coming days. The collection also does not include paid previews, which the makers reportedly plan to hold on the evening before the official release. The film marks Ranbir’s first theatrical outing in three years, after Animal.

A Star-Studded Ensemble

The film has a large cast. Ranbir plays Lord Ram, with Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and Yash as the demon king Raavan. Sunny Deol appears as Lord Hanuman, Lara Dutta as Queen Kaikeyi and Sheeba Chadha as Manthara. Arun Govil plays King Dashrath, and Ravie Dubey plays Lakshman.

Two Parts and an Award-Winning Score

Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus Studios and Yash through his Monster Mind Creations banner. Music comes from Oscar winners Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. The story will unfold across two films, with the second instalment slated for a Diwali 2027 release.

The build-up has not been free of controversy. The makers recently faced criticism over the “Mangal Rang” sequence, with objections to its qawwali-style music and haldi ritual. Whether the debate affects audience interest will become clear once the film opens.

For now, the early Ramayana box office numbers suggest strong curiosity around the project. Trade watchers will be tracking how bookings grow over the next week.
