Ramayana Races Past Rs 100 Crore in Advance Sales, Targets Historic Opening

Ranbir Kapoor and Yash’s mythological epic records massive global pre-release buzz, with North American ticket sales nearing a major box-office benchmark

With just two days to go before its theatrical debut, Ramayana: Part One has reached a major box-office milestone. The much-awaited epic has crossed Rs 100 crore in worldwide bookings during its opening weekend, underscoring the immense anticipation among audiences in India and overseas.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, the film has seen a sharp rise in ticket sales over the past few days. According to trade estimates, domestic bookings have generated more than Rs 60 crore. By comparison, international markets have contributed more than Rs 40 crore, pushing the global pre-sales total into nine figures even before release.

One of the film’s most impressive performances has been its strong response in North America. More than 51,000 tickets have reportedly been sold for the November 4 paid previews in the United States, placing the film within striking distance of Dhurandhar 2, which holds one of the region’s strongest advance-booking benchmarks.

In the process, Ramayana has already surpassed several blockbuster titles in US premiere ticket sales. Films such as Animal, Jawan, Pushpa 2, Pathaan, RRR, Baahubali 2, and Kalki 2898 AD have all been surpassed on the advance-booking charts, reinforcing the scale of interest in the project.

Trade analysts believe the film could achieve a North American opening weekend gross of $13 to $14 million. However, industry experts caution that advance ticket sales are only one indicator of success. The final box-office outcome will depend heavily on audience turnout over the extended weekend and the strength of post-release word of mouth.

Another encouraging sign for the makers is that bookings are spread across multiple days rather than being concentrated solely on opening night. Demand for premium screens and weekend screenings continues to rise, indicating broad-based interest among moviegoers.

Featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, the film boasts a star-studded ensemble, including Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Lara Dutta, Arun Govil, and Vivek Oberoi. As the first chapter of an ambitious two-part cinematic adaptation, Ramayana: Part One enters release week with extraordinary momentum, setting the stage for what could be one of the biggest openings in Indian cinema history.
