Ramayana Release Advanced: Ranbir Kapoor Epic Arrives November 5

The makers of Ramayana: Rise of a Legend have surprised fans by advancing the film’s worldwide release to November 5, 2026. The mythological epic, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, was announced on Sunday evening through a social media post marking the auspicious occasion of Navratri. The post described it as the beginning of a new era and confirmed a release across all premium formats.

Earlier Schedule and Booking Details

The film was previously set for a domestic release on November 8, coinciding with Diwali, while overseas markets were scheduled for November 6. The new date moves it ahead of the festival. The team has also confirmed that advance booking will open on Dussehra. Sony Pictures Entertainment will distribute the first part, which is still being positioned as a Diwali 2026 release. The second part is expected to arrive during the same festive season next year.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film features Yash as King Ravana. The ensemble includes Arun Govil as King Dashrath, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Rakul Preet Singh, Lara Dutta, Sheeba Chadha and Vivek Oberoi also play key roles. Earlier last week, the makers unveiled character posters of Lara Dutta as Queen Kaikeyi and Sheeba Chadha as Manthara.

Music, VFX and Production

On the technical front, the film marks the first collaboration between Academy Award-winning composers Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. Visual effects are handled by DNEG, an eight-time Oscar-winning studio. The screenplay is by Shridhar Raghavan and Nitesh Tiwari. Namit Malhotra produces under the Prime Focus Studios banner, alongside Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.

With a grand cast, global composers and top-tier visual effects, Ramayana is among the most anticipated releases of the year. Fans can now look forward to the early arrival of the epic on November 5.
