Biparjoy cyclone is the strongest kutch shown in the last 125 years. It held the entire kutch for two days. After effects of the Cyclone were also seen in Kutch and a major part of west Gujarat from Kutch to Saurashtra. More than 1000 electricity poles and lots of trees were uprooted due to the Cyclone. 

Around 6.30 pm on Thursday, Biparjoy, a severe cyclonic storm with 115 to 125 kph winds and gusts up to 140 kph, made landfall at Jakhau.

There was no electricity in 45 villages in the Maliya tehsil due to electric wires and poles being broken by strong winds. Eleven villages now have power. 

Over 300 electric poles have been damaged in the rural and arid coastal regions. According to J. C. Goswami, executive engineer at PGVCL in Morbi, the Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. (PGVCL) strives to restore power to the remaining rural areas as quickly as possible.

The Government of Gujarat is working day and night to help the citizens, of affected areas.
