Sergino Dest new signing for Barcelona recalled communication blunder with Lionel Messi.

Some youngsters who want to grow as a footballer, carry a dream that they want to Play with Messi alongside. Messi has done many marvellous things while playing football. Sergino Dest too had a plan to play with the six-time Ballon d’Or winner. 

The American Defender recently played his first match for Barca against Sevilla which eventually went to a draw. The debut of Dest wasn’t as smooth as he expected. He made a communication blunder in his first match. 

Sergino Dest recalls communication shortfall with Lionel Messi: 

Dest is a US Men’s national team star. He failed to understand the instructions by Lionel Messi. He revealed the fact that it was an extraordinary momentum and a dream come true to play alongside Messi. 

There was a language misunderstanding between them as Messi doesn’t speak English. Although he smiled at Messi and thought things could work out well. The Argentine international only speaks Spanish. The former Ajax defender also revealed how he chose Barca over all clubs. 

Sergino Dest idiolises Ronaldinho: 

Ronaldinho was the main reason why he joined Barca. He considers the Barca Legend his idol. It was his dream to play for The Spanish Giant. Dest shot fame when he allover played 33 matches for the Ajax club. Also three games for the US Men’s national team. 

European champions Bayern Munich were also keen on roping in the defender, but he ultimately decided to switch to the Camp Nou outfit. Barcelona paid €21 million to sign the US international, who hopes to succeed at the club under the watchful eye of Ronald Koeman.

Barcelona held by Sevilla:

Barcelona was held to a 1-1 draw by Europa League champions Sevilla on Sunday. Luuk de Jong bagged the opener in the eighth minute for Julen Lopetegui, followed by Philippe Coutinho’s equalizer two minutes later. 

With the international break around the corner, Barcelona occupies the fifth spot in the LaLiga table, having bagged seven points in three games. The Catalan giant’s trail by three points to defending champions Real Madrid, although they have a game in hand.
