Swati Maliwal on the disturbing video of guy from Delhi Metro

On Friday, the head of the Delhi Commission for Women, Swati Maliwal, expressed strong apprehension about a viral clip on social media that showed a young guy purportedly masturbating on a Delhi Metro. 

In contrast, others around him looked embarrassed and also moved away.

Taking to Twitter, Swati Maliwal stated she has given a notice to the Delhi Police as well as Delhi Metro to take strict action for the “shameful act”.

“I came across a viral video of a man brazenly masturbating in the Delhi Metro. It’s incredibly repulsive and terrible. “I am issuing a notice to Delhi Police and Delhi Metro to ensure the most stringent action possible against this heinous act,” Maliwal tweeted.

The disturbing video, which has gone popular on social media, shows a young man (viewing something on his phone) masturbating on the Delhi Metro. In contrast, other travellers around him are uncomfortable and moving away.

Another rider caught the incident on film but did not intervene to stop the culprit.

This is not the first time something like this has happened on the Delhi Metro, with a recent viral clip showing a woman in a bra and miniskirt riding the train. 

The DMRC has asked commuters to observe social etiquette and procedures; however, the woman in the video stated that the ban prohibiting videography on trains should also apply to those who filmed the video.

The Delhi Commission for Women had alerted the Delhi Police and the Delhi Metro that the perpetrator would face serious punishment.
