Watch: accident claims 10 lives on Ahmedabad-Vadodara expressway

The car was driving towards Ahmedabad from Vadodara when it slammed into the truck’s rear side on the highway.

A devastating accident on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway near Nadiad town in Gujarat’s Kheda district resulted in the loss of 10 lives on Wednesday. According to police officials, a car collided with a truck, leading to the tragic incident.

Details of the Accident

Inspector Kirit Chaudhary from the Nadiad Rural police station stated that the car, traveling from Vadodara to Ahmedabad, crashed into the rear of a truck on the expressway. Regrettably, eight individuals lost their lives instantly, while two others, initially injured, succumbed to their injuries later in the hospital.

Nadiad MLA Pankaj Desai shared insights into the accident, suggesting that a potential technical fault with the truck might have caused it to stop on the expressway’s left lane. This unexpected obstruction may have left the driver of the speeding car with insufficient time to react and avoid the collision.

Efforts by Authorities

Kheda SP Rajesh Gadhvi informed ANI that the truck had come to a halt on the Vadodara-Ahmedabad Expressway due to technical issues. He noted the prompt response of the civil administration in attending to the scene and facilitating the retrieval of the bodies from the car wreckage.

Gadhvi further added that the police are actively engaged in contacting the relatives of the deceased individuals. Additionally, dedicated teams have been mobilized to ensure the smooth progression of the legal procedures associated with the unfortunate incident.
