Viral CCTV video shows two thieves giving Rs 100 to a Delhi couple they were attempting to loot at gunpoint just seconds before.

In a strange incident, two Delhi thieves who were attempting to rob a couple at gunpoint offered them Rs 100 and fled the scene without hurting them in any way.

Footage of the empathetic thieves and their attempted theft was seen on CCTV cameras at the Farsh Bazaar region of east Delhi’s Shahdara on June 21. The video shows two men wearing helmets and stopping their scooty around the couple.

One guy gets off the scooty and points a gun at the couple while the other seems to frisk them.

Realising that they had nothing on them but Rs 20, the thieves were seen giving them something to the couple before going. The couple subsequently told cops that the bike-borne bandits gave them a Rs 100 note, according to the press.

Police traced the thieves after analysing video from nearly 200 nearby CCTV cameras. The charges were identified as Dev Verma and Harsh Rajput. They were both intoxicated at the time of the incident.

“Both the robbers had consumed a lot of alcohol at the time of the incident. After examining the CCTV footage, it was found that these robbers had created panic in many areas. We have recovered the pistol,” confirmed DCP Shahdara, Rohit Meena.

The two thieves told cops that they were trying to join the gang of gangster Neeraj Bawana and were charmed by his YouTube videos. Cops recovered about 30 robbed cell phones from them.
