The incident where a dog scared away a leopard occurred in Rahuri taluka in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.

When one imagines a fight between a dog and a leopard, usually, it dictates that the big cat will beat hands down. Yet, in a stunning incident, a leopard was startled away by a loyal dog protecting a house.

On Thursday, the press posted a CCTV footage that showed a leopard sneaking inside a home from the front stoop in the Rahuri taluka of Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar. Yet, seconds after, the big cat is seen heading back outside. As per the reports, the dog scared away a leopard.

Commenting on the footage, a Twitter account wrote, “Dog was scared too ….still he tried his best to protect themselves and others ”. Indian Forest Service official Parveen Kaswan wrote that, most probably, the dog was just lucky to escape the leopard’s attack. He said, “He was just lucky !!”.

People even said the owners should not have kept the dog outside the home at night. Echoing this opinion, a Twitter user penned, “I have a special kind of hate for people who leave their pet dogs outside!”.

This is not the first time a dog has “beaten” a leopard.
