History

The first photographic process, known as a daguerreotype, was invent in 1837 in France by two Frenchmen name Joseph Nicephore Niepce also Louis Daguerre. The French Academy of Sciences officially declared the invention on January 19, 1837. The French government is believe to have bought the patent for the invention ten days after the announcement. However, the government did not copyright the patent, which was give to the world as a gift.

The French established the photographic process, marking commercial photography’s beginning. However, William Henry Fox Talabot later simplified the photography process in 1839. He created a new also more versatile photographic process using paper-based salt prints.
