England vs NZ wellington 2nd test day 5:

Day 5 England almost chased down a target of 257, but NZ, this time, were in no mood to give up. Wagner took 4 crucial wickets. Southee, too, took three wickets and helped NZ win by just 1 run.

Root Brook Partnership:

Batting first, England scored a big score of 435 runs thanks to Brook, who scored brilliant 186 runs with authority. Root, too, showed he is still working on he too can match with the young guns of England. Joe scored classic 153 runs.

NZ failed in the first inning:

Chasing 435 took work for NZ. The team got all out in just 209 runs, and it looked like they would lose this match, too vs England. Southee inning of 73 runs helped NZ reach 209 runs in 1st inning. Veteran Broad and Anderson took 7 wickets between them. Conditions were suitable for both pacers, and they bowled with brilliant line and length.

2nd inning NZ fight back:

Williamson played the inning of his life and scored an incredible 132 runs vs a good seam attack of England. Blundell gave him good support and scored fighting 90runs. At one time, it looked like NZ would set a target of 300+, but they collapsed thanks to Jack leach, who took 5 wickets, limiting NZ to 483 runs.

England Played bravely but missed the target by 1 run:

England started well, and most of us thought the match would end by tea time. But the game turned when Brook got run out for 0. NZ kept on attacking England, and it worked for them. In the end, the foakes played an excellent inning but got out at the wrong time. Wagner took Anderson, and NZ won the match by 1 run margin.

This is why we say every run count in cricket. This team is the unluckiest. They lost to England in Worldcup and other matches by a margin no one can accept—this time, NZ didn’t allow England to create one more history. Now the series is live 1-1 each. Great game of cricket improving the standard.
