India wins two gold medals in the World Doubles Squash Championships

Dipika Pallikal may have been out of the sport for three years India wins.

India wins Dipika then teamed up with Joshna Chinappa in the women’s doubles final. Defeating England’s Sarah-Jane Perry and Alison Waters 11-9, 4-11, 11-8.

It was sweet retaliation for Joshna and Dipika. Who had been humiliated by Sarah and Alison during their group stage encounter.

“We wanted to come out with a solid plan in the final after they had beaten us a few days before. It was a tough match, and it feels great to have won, “Joshna stated following the game. However, Dipika thought that the final could have gone either way. “We could stick to our fundamentals and strengths, and we were relieve to have crossed the finish line. I didn’t expect much from this tournament because I was returning to competitive squash after a three-year hiatus, but I’m just glad to be here, “Dipika, who had twins last year, revealed.

Regarding India’s historic victory, “I am delighted with this result; 20 years ago, the federation set out a target to win a World Championship, which has been achieved today,” said Cyrus Poncha. General secretary of the Indian squash federation (SRFI). Saurav, Dipika, and Joshna have dedicated their lives to squash, and this result demonstrates that.”

We would not have had the Indian Squash & Triathlon Academy or the international training expertise without his vision in the 1990s. These three athletes were all academy trainees.
