Kalawad and Jamnagar talukas of Jamnagar district were flooded due to torrential rains last night. As a result, hundreds of people have been trapped in several villages of Jamnagar district, creating land and water conditions. Teams from the Air Force, SDRF and fire brigade, have been deployed to evacuate people returning to the village on the way out of the village. Rescue operations are in full swing in rural areas like Banga, Jogwad, Wodisang, Dhudshiya, Konja, Aliyabada, Dhunwav etc., of Kalawad taluka of Jamnagar district.

Due to heavy rains in Kalawad taluka, rivers became Ganditur. In Aliabada village, one floor of a house was submerged in water, and people climbed on the house’s roof to save their lives. A team of 25 locals and a fire brigade carried out a heart-wrenching rescue operation as some people were trapped near the riverbank, and the water level was rising. The soldiers risked their lives to save lives.

A terrible situation has also arisen in Dhunwav village near Garkav Jamnagar. Fifty per cent of the village population is trapped in the floodwaters as the river water seeps into the village. Villagers have demanded to arrange food packets for those trapped in the water. As far as the villagers are concerned, they have never seen such a flood in history.

Nageshwar Khodiyar temple The Khodiyar temple is located on the banks of the river Nageshwar. The floodwaters have receded around the temple at Ghodapur in the Nagmati-Rangmati river at night. The temple is also half submerged. About five to six people are trapped on the roof here. Those who have gone viral have asked for help.

More than 10 feet of water flooded
In the Bhoiwada area of the city, in the Bhoiwada area of Jamnagar city, more than 10 feet of water has flooded in the residential area where the water of the Nagmati-Rangmati river recedes. Currently, boats are being used to evacuate people to safer places.
