Union minister of the country for electronics and information generation Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Thursday stated that the authorities are not planning to dam any social media platform in India.
“At present, the government has no plan to block any social media platform in us of a” Chandrasekhar stated in a written reply to a query within the Rajya Sabha.
Chandrasekhar but said that under the availability of Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000, the authorities blocks online content that it deems malicious, maintaining in thoughts “the hobby of sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of the State, friendly relations with foreign states or public order”.
