Shocking Twitter Co-founder Jack Dorsey quits Instagram

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey announced his separation from Instagram on Friday, criticizing its parent firm Meta. 

He also criticized Threads, a recently launched social media platform owned by Mark Zuckerberg, calling it a “Twitter clone.” He had been inactive on Instagram for a long time.

“Deleted my Instagram account after 12 years. was one of the first 10 accounts, I believe, and one of the first angel investors. who will they give the @jack handle to?” Jack Dorsey wrote on X (previously Twitter) without giving out an explanation for leaving the app.

Notably, Elon Musk, the current owner of Twitter (or X), responded to Dorsey’s message with a fire emoji. This is despite the co-founder’s conflicting feelings about the social media app.

Tensions between Twitter/X and Meta recently flared after the later-released Threads app, in an alleged attempt to win over users, was thwarted by major modifications to X. 

It spurred Musk to warn Zuckerberg with a lawsuit for ‘systematic, deliberate, and unlawful misuse of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property’.
