India’s infection figure has gone up to 9,979,447, including 22,889 new cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as well as 338 fatalities over the last 24 hours, according to data from the Union Health Ministry on Friday morning.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Health at 8 am with 31,087 new discharges across the nation between Thursday as well as Friday morning, 9,520,827 have recovered from respiratory disease.
From 95,31 per cent on Thursday, the national recovery rate has increased marginally to 95,40 per cent. The distance has also been gradually growing between recovered and active cases now stand at 9,206,996.
“India has maintained a very high recovery rate along with rapidly decreasing active cases including low mortality rates with a focused strategy and proactive as well as calibrated measures of the Union Government along with the States and UTs,” the Ministry of Health said on Thursday.
The recoveries on Thursday:
On Thursday, of the 33,291 fresh recoveries, ten states, as well as Union territories, reported 75.63 per cent. Data from the health ministry showed 5,728 patients recovering from Covid-19 in Kerala, giving the maximum number of recoveries to the southern state.
3,887 regular recoveries were reported by Maharashtra, and 2,767 new recoveries were recorded by West Bengal. The ministry also said the recovery rate in India is one of the highest in the world.
“Although the global Recovery Rate figure is 70.27 per cent, India accounts for 95.31 per cent. “The US, Brazil, Russia, as well as Italy are reporting lower rates of recovery,” it stated.
78.27% new cases registered on Thursday:
Of the 24,010 regular cases on Thursday, 78.27 per cent of the new cases were reported by 10 States and Union territories. 6,185 cases were reported in Kerala, 2,293 in West Bengal, as well as 1,661 new cases, were registered on Thursday in Chhattisgarh.
The report from the ministry also showed that 79.15% of the 355 fatalities recorded on Thursday morning came from 10 states and Union territories. Of these, Maharashtra had 95 deaths, West Bengal saw a death toll of 46, and Delhi reported 32 new fatalities.
A decrease in the Death rate:
India has reported a steady decrease in the number of deaths every day. At 1.45 per cent, the case fatality rate is maintained and is steadily declining.
India’s death rate, the ministry said in its release, is one of the lowest in the world.
Meanwhile, 15,89,18,646 samples screened for Covid-19 up to Thursday were tested by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) as well as 11,13,406 samples been tested on the same basis.
