India started with one-day lockdown followed by a 21 days lockdown. Now the Government of India is talking to all states of India about extending lockdown looking to rise in cases. Many states like Mumbai, Odisha and all already extended lockdown.
Looking at the condition to stop the chain of COVID-19, we might see the big decision coming out soon from PM office. India is nearby 8000 cases which means numbers have grown from 500 to nearly 8000, and it looks like it will go further for a few days.
So it is essential in a country like India we should take more prevention against such diseases as we don’t have such equipment and all to handle a large number of patients in India.
Today on April 11, 2020, PM Modi talked with CM of all states and Union Territories of India via Video Conference to discuss extend or not.
According to the sources Arvind Kejriwal insisted on extending lockdown for people safety till April 30. With Kejriwal, many other CM like Amarinder Singh also said the same.
Bhupesh Baghel of Chhattisgarh said ban o rail, interstate road and air facilities. He requested the PM to permit economic activities within the borders.
Other Chief Ministers meeting in the video conference on Saturday were CM of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, CM of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee, CM of Haryana Manohar Lal, CM of Telangana Chandrashekhar Rao, CM of Bihar Nitish Kumar & CM of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray.
Talking about the possibility of extending the Lockdown, PM Modi last week had also said that it is not likely to pull off the lockdown in “one go” as the priority of his government is first to save the lives of people.
While the decision of other states is on wait, Odisha & Punjab have already continued the lockdown in their countries till the month-end.
Telangana CM, K Chandrashekar Rao was also seen supporting the extension of lockdown in his state.
At the same time, CMs of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Assam & Maharashtra indicated that they would not entirely lift the restrictions post-Tuesday.
