COVID-19 Mumbai: Police of Mumbai will take action against Admins of Whatsapp Group if found guilty in spreading rumours.

India and the entire world is under pressure due to Coronavirus. Already it has been the biggest headache of the century for all the world Governments.

To add on that pressure is social media. It seems like some naughty ones are not understanding the seriousness of this time as they are spreading rumours and all related to Coronavirus, which is affected public.

To stop such nonsense on Social media Mumbai police is going to be strick and take severe action against the admins of the group.

So who are handling WhatsApp groups because today majority of false news is spreading in Chinese WhatsApp.

To stop spreading rumours new act has been passed, if any content that creates panic amongst people will be considered a crime and action will be taken against admin of that group.

Under 144 section, the warning has been issued on Friday, April 10 against admins of social media app Whatsapp. If any problem occurred, they would be responsible for the group.

The circular was passed by Pranaya Ashok, Deputy Commissioner of Police for this new act against admins of WhatsApp.

Any person who fails to follow the regulations would be persecuted under section 188 of the IPC.

So, any content that is disparaging, discriminating or distorting facts would be dealt with severely & would lead to stricter actions against admins under applicable laws.

The said order which came into effect on April 10 midnight will remain in power till April 24.
