Vladimir Putin first video after ICC arrest: there’s something weird in his walk

Vladimir Putin first video after ICC arrest: there’s something weird in his walk

Russian President Vladimir Putin was seen in Crimea after his first appearance at the science (ICC) International Criminal Court issued the arrest warrant over alleged war crimes.

In Crimea, the Russian President Vladimir Putin was seen walking with a noticeable limp as he opened a school and children’s art centre. Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, which was widely condemned internationally.

Vladimir Putin was alleged to have “visibly limping” during his visit, according to a video posted to social media by Anton Gerashchenko, advisor to the Ukrainian minister of internal affairs.

While his assistants brief him, Vladimir Putin can be seen in the video strolling alongside them with his head bent.

The visit marks nine years since Russia seized Crimea from Ukraine and was called a “reunification” event by the Kremlin.

The Russian President had been scheduled to participate in the celebrations by video conference. Still, he instead appeared on Sevastopol’s official tv, according to news agency Reuters, which also noted that he arrived in a car.

The visit comes just a day after the International Criminal Court published an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin for war crimes linked to the alleged abduction of kids from Ukraine, charges that the Kremlin has denied.

The ICC also charged Russia’s children’s minister, Maria Lvova-Belova, with deporting children from Ukraine to Russia. The allegations first surfaced in February of last year.
