Teargas and heavy shelling resumed at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, as police and Imran Khan supporters clashed outside the former prime minister’s home in Lahore.

A large police force surrounded his home as Islamabad Police prepared to arrest him in the Toshakhana case.

According to Reuters, a government spokesman said that several people were injured on both sides of the conflict as police charged Imran Khan’s supporters with batons as well as teargas shells.

Imran Khan’s supporters had gathered outside his residence after a police team from Islamabad showed up to arrest him based on a court order.

Imran Khan said in a video statement posted on his Twitter handle last evening, “The police have arrived to arrest me and take me to jail.

If something bad happens to me, or if I’m imprisoned or killed, you must demonstrate that this country will continue to fight even without Imran Khan.”

Early Wednesday morning, he shared another clip where he alleged the Shehbaz Sharif government of plotting his arrest, claiming that it was all part of a “London plan” to complete all cases against Nawaz Sharif.

Imran Khan stated, “This is part of the London plan, and an accord has been signed there to put Imran in jail, create the PTI fall, and finish all cases against Nawaz Sharif.”

He also added that he doesn’t understand the motivation behind the attack on people as he had already promised to appear in court on March 18.
