Apple has begun manufacturing the latest iPhone 13 in India, bolstering the presence of one of the country’s largest technology companies and catalyzing the government’s Make in India initiative. With the latest announcement, Apple has confirmed that all of its latest iPhone models are now manufacture in India. However, if you’re hoping for a price drop, Apple might not do it just yet.
Apple’s Indian manufacturing partners, Foxconn and Wistron, already produce older iPhone models. But the iPhone 13 will be manufactured first at Foxconn’s facility. According to a report, Apple’s third partner, Pegatron, is also expect to start production this month, but it may begin with the iPhone 12. Apple now manufactures the iPhone 13, iPhone 12, and iPhone 11 in-house, but these are only basic models. Currently, none of the Pro models are manufacture in India. Furthermore, Apple has stated that it will manufacture the iPhone 13 in India for local customers. Implying that the units produced in India are unlikely to be export to other markets.
