US President Joe Biden slams Republicans for Capitol attack

On Wednesday, US President Joe Biden stated that Republican advocates of a Fox News initiative to downplay the gravity of a mob of Donald Trump supporters attacking Congress on January 6, 2021, should be ashamed of themselves.

“On January 6, about 140 police officers suffered injuries. I’ve already argued that it is outrageous for anyone to downplay or ignore the agony they endured.” In a tweet, President Joe Biden. “I hope House Republicans feel guilty about undermining our law enforcement,”

Biden reaffirmed his support for the Capitol Hill police, whose commander accused Fox News host Tucker Carlson of falsifying video evidence of the unusual attack following Trump’s election loss.

Thomas Manger, the chief of Capitol Police, claimed in a statement that Carlson’s programme, which aired this week, was “laden with offensive and inaccurate conclusions.”

Trump’s supporters attacked Congress on January 6 after hearing him complain about the injustice of the election for weeks. 

They managed to get past police barriers. Some lawmakers fled in fear for their lives due to the attack, which forced a halt in the legal procedure to declare Biden’s election victory.

Carlson, a right-wing firebrand who anchors a very successful evening show on Fox, received 41,000 hours of raw footage from Capitol security cameras from recently elected Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. After that, Carlson altered the clip to prove that the crowds were orderly.
